Everything You Need To Know About Niacinamide

Even though the efficacy of niacinamide in skincare has been well-known for a while now, buyer demand for the ingredient hasn’t dropped off at all, the opposite even, with it being one of LC’s most-searched terms.

Curious about the buzz surrounding the superstar ingredient Niacinamide? This powerful vitamin and antioxidant has become a must-have in skincare routines due to its multitasking prowess, there isn’t a lot it doesn’t do for your skin. With the ability to address a variety of skin concerns, incorporating this powerhouse ingredient into your routine is a no-brainer. If one ingredient can deliver so many benefits, why not make it a staple in your skincare regimen?

What does Niacinamide do for your skin?

Niacinamide can help your skin experience less redness, thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties. Enjoy preserved hydration, a strengthened skin barrier, and improved synthesis of healthy fats, key for achieving that coveted glowing skin.

Niacinamide is also remarkable for its ability to reduce the appearance of pores. Although pores don't physically open and close, Niacinamide addresses factors that make them appear smaller. Clear, debris-free pores become less visible, and well-hydrated, moisturised skin appears plump, making pores seem tighter.

Benefits of Niacinamide:

🌟 Evens out skin tone

🌟 Helps reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation/dark spots

🌟 Soothes skin

🌟 Anti-inflammatory; helps reduce redness & breakouts

🌟 Brightens dullness

🌟 Minimises the appearance of pores

🌟 Supports the skin barrier

Why do we not go above 5% Niacinamide?

Niacinamide is a fabulous ingredient with many skin benefits. However, in higher concentrations, it is known to be irritating to many. This is not a “more = better” thing. Through our testing and clinically available data we have found 5% to be an effective dosage that is still easily accepted by many skin types and non-irritating. Moderation is key to getting all of the great benefits from niacinamide.

Moreover, having 5% Niacinamide or less in our La Clinica products means you can pair any of these products together for your perfect, desired amount of B3.

How to add Niacinamide into your skincare routine

As all the La Clinica Niacinamide products are formulated for regular use, you can use Niacinamide both morning and night. Simply apply any of the serums to cleansed skin, add your choice of moisturiser plus SPF and you’re all set!

Niacinamide is compatible with many other ingredients such as peptides, hyaluronic acid, hydroxy acids and all types of antioxidants and therefore can be easily added into any skincare routine. But as always,
