Ingredient Focus - Tranexamic Acid

The skincare wizzes here at La Clinica’s lab are always on the hunt for new and exciting ingredients, researching clinical studies to ensure their effectiveness and testing them out. So when Tranexamic Acid arrived in our hands with near magical-sounding properties of improving stubborn skin discolouration - we HAD to find out more!

What is Tranexamic Acid?

A synthetic derivative of the amino acid lysine, it is a non-exfoliating acid that helps reduce skin discolouration and even out skin tone.

Benefits of Tranexamic Acid for Skin:

Tranexamic Acid has shown promising results in helping even out dark spots and discolouration - especially in melasma - a breakthrough for those who suffer from this skin condition but don’t want the side-effects of prescription-only hydroquinone.

Who Tranexamic Acid is Suitable for:

Heaven-sent for anyone dealing with melasma, hyperpigmentation, acne scarring, or discoloured complexions - or just simply those who want a more even skin tone. However this is not recommended during pregnancy, instead go for the Brightening Serum Level 1 which is free from Tranexamic Acid and Alpha Arbutin.
